Timneh African Greys can communicate and imitate noises. These birds are multi-person family pets. The African Grey Timneh Parrots for Sale are famed for their intelligence and walkability. However, there is much more. They are social and great companions.

No one should rush into the decision to bring an African Grey into their home. Lots of affection and attention from you on a constant basis, and training are necessities. Although it requires a lifetime of dedication, the payoff can be substantial. Timneh Greys have a gorgeous crimson tail and a deeper grey coat, making them significantly smaller than their Congo relatives. The ideal dimensions for this bird’s cage are 36 inches in length, 24 inches in width, and 66 inches in height, with ¾” wire spacing.

The smaller and less well-known Timneh African Grey parrots (Psittacus erithacus timneh) are related to the more famous Congo African Greys. They have a white area around their eyes and a dark maroon tail; their overall coloration is mostly dark gray. Timneh African Greys can be identified by their pink spots on either side of their black upper beaks. Blackens the lower part of their beaks. They are originally from the Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and southern Guinea in Africa.

Timneh African Greys are around 12 inches in length and weigh around 320 grams.

The parrots of Timneh African Grey are gregarious and full of energy. Their ability to acquire extensive vocabulary is similar to that of the Congos. Also, similar to Congos, they are highly intelligent and require a great deal of activity to maintain their attention. When compared to Congo parrots, Timneh African Greys are said to be friendlier and less timid around unfamiliar situations. Timnehs are filled with boundless energy and an enthusiasm for discovering the world around them. And they have a tendency to be a touch bossy and forceful at times.

Like their Congoine counterparts, Timneh African Greys aren’t known for their delicate warning nip when pressed to do something they’d like not to. This makes them an unsuitable pet bird for homes with young children.
